A few years ago I trained as a volunteer with my local Children’s Centre, and later completed a City and Guilds with a charity in order to support families to play with their children. I started writing a blog in response to requests from families I was supporting. They were finding it hard to think of ways to entertain their children, and lacking confidence in their own abilities to provide education and entertainment for their pre-schoolers. Somewhere along the way we lost the idea that families are a child’s first and best teacher, and I wanted to empower families to engage in fun structured and unstructured play and learning.
Along the way I have been privileged to have been published on a number of occasions in print and online by the Green Parent Magazine, and have worked with exciting brands including MacMillan Children’s Books and Montagne Jeunesse.
AcornSTEM is a new incarnation of my old family blog and I am excited to be making the blog a professional platform to link families up with the best resources and information available to them, through articles, sponsored content and reviews. When it comes to book reviews I have a dedicated team of reviewers on stand-by!
If you would like to hire me, my details are on my ‘contact me’ page, or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to working with you.
